tennis tip 4

Here are some tips on how to beat a retriever (or the pusher):
You've probably experienced this scenario: More and more balls keep coming back, frustration sets in, you get impatient, you try harder and start going for bigger and better shots, closer to the lines and eventually you make the error.
Here are some suggestions against the pusher:
1.) Be patient, you've got to have the right attitude going into the match. Prepare yourself for a long day at the office.
2.) Remember a retriever likes to retrieve, so don't let him, hit the ball right at him, they usually don't hit with much pace so look for the short ball and get to the net and finish the point.
3.) Take the retriever out of his comfort zone, they love running corner to corner on the baseline, draw them to the net, hit some short shots and drop shots. Retrievers usually hate the net.
4.) Do not give them pace, they feed off your pace. They love to take your energy and turn it right back on you. The harder you hit the ball the harder they hit the ball. Only they aren't hitting harder you are. And the harder you swing the more likely it is you'll make a mistake.
